Because of my very limited picture taking ability and attention span, for now you'll have to imagine the little one foot wide strip around the yard. Maybe I'll have a pic once the peas start. And of my garden in the backyard. And my cold frame. And the wildflowers and garlic planted in old tree stumps. And somehow I'm going to fit a little hen house into all of this. I hope to keep track of everything that I grow in this yard to show just what a single gal can do with her own little piece of dirt.

Have you read "the Backyard Homestead"? Edited by Carleen Madigan. I borrowed it from the library. Good basic info and such, adapt to your climate of course, but it really shows how much you can do on under 1 acre!
Keep trucking, it pays off. I grew swiss chard for the first time and found we love it...zuppa toscana soup recipe on my blog. You just never know until you try.
I actually have that book on my night table right now! Zuppa Toscana is my fav at Olive Garden. I will definitely have to have a look and find it on your blog. Thanks!
